Sea Schoodic Kayak & Bike currently offers hybrid bike rentals to safely and effectively navigate the terrain in and around Acadia National Park!
We also have youth bikes, pull trailers, tag-a-longs and baby seats!
RENT & RIDE!
Renting with us is a breeze! We are conveniently located less than a 100 yards from the entrance to Acadia National Park Schoodic District. You can park your car at the shop and get started on your adventure right away!
"RIDE THE LOOP!"
Take in incredible views "Riding the Loop" road along the Schoodic Peninsula in Acadia national Park. Schoodic offers a coastal, 6 mile, in-park paved loop road and another 6 miles completing the loop back to Winter Harbor.
Enjoy views of the Winter Harbor Light, Cadillac Mountain towering over Frenchmans Bay and so much more! Bald Eagels, Ospreys and Harbor Seals can be spotted from various places along your ride. The remaining 6 miles of the loop will bring you outside of the park through Birch Harbor! Reward yourself for a bite to eat or grab an ice cream cone!

Looking to add a few more miles to your adventure? Or simply cruise among the quiet pines of Acadia? Explore the Schoodic Peninsula bike paths! 8.3 miles of gravel bike paths are situated in the center of the park. Travel these wide paths as you move through the woods and up and down some hilly sections. Clearly marked signage easily directs you toward your destinations. Off the pavement and free of cars, the paths also serve as an alternate route back to Winter Harbor!

What is a hybrid bike? And what terrain can it handle?
Hybrid bikes offer you comfort and stability with a wider saddle, up-right handle bar style and
mid-width tires. Hybrid bikes allow you to ride for hours with ease on both paved roads and the gravel carriage roads throughout Acadia National Park!
Do you offer a "Step-Through" hybrid bike frame?
We do! We have a full size run in both "Step-Through" bike frames and your typical high cross-bar bike.
What is a "Step-Through" bike?
"Step-Through" bike frames offer a low entry point that helps assist in getting on and off a bike. A great option for any rider, but especially appealing to those still getting comfortable on a bike or if you plan to stop a lot along your ride!
Do your bikes have gears?
Yes! We only rent hybrids with 7 or more gears.
This includes our youth bikes as well as adult.
How do I know my bike size when I book online?
When you book online, we have the sizes listed for bikes broken down by the riders height. Simply select the size that matches your height range! Or give us a ring and we can help you select the best option for you!
Are helmets included in the rental price rental?
You bet! We want our riders as safe as possible while they explore! We have helmets of all sizes and for all ages.
Do you rent E-Bikes?
No, we are not currently renting any electric bikes.

RENT & RIDE!
Renting with us is a breeze! We are conveniently located less than a 100 yards from the entrance to Acadia National Park Schoodic District. You can park your car at the shop and get started on your adventure right away! Parking is first come first serve, please contact us if you have large groups.
If you are taking the ferry from Bar Harbor, we are a short distance from the ferry terminal. You have the option of walking or hop on the free LL Bean Explorer shuttle and request to be dropped off at Sea Schoodic Kayak & Bike!

What is your cancellation policy?
Contact us by phone to cancel or inquire about a cancellation. Parties of 4 or less will receive a full refund if we are contacted 48 hours prior to reservation date. Parties of 5 or more must cancel at least 7 days prior to reservation date for full refund. No-shows will be charged the full price.
What if weather is bad on the day of reservation?
We can rebook for a day with better weather if the conditions are unsafe for riding in. We want you to be safe & enjoy riding!
